Watch out! Magenta Easter bunnies at large!
With Easter just around the corner, Magenta Living has gone the “eggstra” mile delivering Easter eggs donated by their employees to their schemes supporting young people – Manor Road and the “Our House Trio”.
Manor Road is a 6 bed, 24 hour supported scheme providing emergency accommodation for young people aged 16 and 17, with the aim of helping them to move on to more permanent housing.
The Our House trio is made up of Our House, First Base and Your House, supporting young women and their children to learn independent living skills.
Elly Daly, Operations Manager for the schemes, said:
“We’d like to thank all our colleagues who donated Easter eggs – it will really make a huge difference to the young people and their children who we support.
“We work closely with all our young people for as long as they need us, helping them to tackle the roadblocks that may be in their way. We liaise closely with a multitude of agencies and professionals, whether that be Social Care, Health, Drugs and Alcohol, benefits agencies or local community organisations. We do this to try to ensure a wraparound service for our residents where they feel supported and can move forward in a positive way, no matter the journey they may have been on so far.”
Our House is a 10 bed, 24 hour supported accommodation for young women, aged 16-25, and their children under the age of 2. Our aim is to support these young women, who have found themselves homeless or in need of a supported placement, to learn independent living skills to move on to live in the local community.
Some of the residents then move on to another part of the trio; First Base. This is our semi-supported accommodation of 6 bungalows. Here we support single parents or families, parents aged 18-25 and children up to school age, with the same aim; to support them to be ready for independent living.
The third part of the trio is Your House where we support young parents who have moved into the community to ensure they manage their tenancies well and can be a helping hand for anything they are unsure of.
