ASB Pledge
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) is something that we take very seriously as an organisation, our aim is to make our communities and neighbourhoods safer and happier for everyone.
We have recently taken the ASB Pledge that will give our communities more support. ASB Help is a registered charity in England and Wales set up to provide advice and support to victims of anti-social behaviour. Signing the pledge will allow more partnerships working with local organisations and agencies to support our customers further with ASB issues. If you would like to find out more about the Pledge, you can do here.

Our ASB team will regularly take part in neighbourhood walkabouts in our communities, often in partnership with Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue and other local agencies to support our customers. It also allows our customers the opportunity to talk to us confidentially around any ASB issues they may be having. They can also suggest any ideas on how we support them further.
We have also been busy recently with not one but three major evictions. Making our neighbourhood safer and a better place for all. Eviction is always the last resort, but with people who continue to make their neighbours’ lives difficult and unpleasant, sometimes it is the only way to resolve the issue.
The first eviction in Ellesmere Port was a person who has serious ASB and criminal behaviour. This person caused fear and presented such a significant risk that we had to take legal action against them to protect our customers by applying for an injunction to exclude the subject from their home. This successful eviction has had a huge impact on the neighbourhood and people’s lives. It also allowed us to make the property into a family home.
We have also recently evicted two more properties in Bebington and Rock Ferry with the evicted tenants using the property for criminal activity. Our Tenancy Enforcement Officer and our Neighbourhood Housing Officer worked together with Merseyside Police to support and evict the tenants. It has made a huge difference to the local area.
One tenant said: “ I love where I live, I would not move from here now you got rid of him, my nan lived here and it’s great now.”
Another customer said: “Thank you for checking up on us, it’s good to see you taking action and getting rid of all the dealers.”
Another property in Birkenhead was raided recently by Merseyside police multiple times for drug dealing. The nightmare was finally over for the local community when the customer who had caused so many issues decided to hand his keys back. Our officers had been working relentlessly with this customer to seek alternative accommodation rather than go through court, he decided to sign a deed of surrender to end his tenancy.
Our Tenancy Enforcement officers also delivered a Notice of Seeking Possession to a customer whose son has been convicted of criminal activity. We hope this demonstrates that we do not tolerate such behaviour in our properties.
ASB can come in many forms and often leaves people feeling alarmed and distressed. To help tackle ASB in our communities, we will continue to work closely with our partners at Merseyside Police to overcome instances of ASB in our neighbourhoods. We will always do our best to support our customers with their incidents of ASB.
