Magenta Living supports #CommunityImpactWeek
The largest social landlord on Wirral, Magenta Living, hosted several activities recently to celebrate Community Impact Week – a campaign which highlights the importance of placing individuals and the places in which they live, at the heart of everything housing associations do.
A series of events took place; a save energy party in Tranmere, stop smoking session in Brackendale, Woodchurch, an alleyway clean-up in Birkenhead, followed by a park tip and skip operation in Bebington.
The park tip and skip operation held in Town Lane drew the biggest crowd, as local residents and Magenta Living staff worked together to clear up an area resulting in a clean green space for the rest of the community to enjoy.
In addition to celebrating Community Impact Week, Magenta Living works tirelessly throughout the year to transform people’s lives through projects like:
- Offering residents training within community properties
- Providing volunteers – Magenta Living staff helping out at community events
- Sourcing employment opportunities through WoW (Working on Wirral)
- Dealing with environmental issues like fly tipping and graffiti
- Liaising with the Police to tackle anti-social behaviour
- Hosting an annual garden competition.
Jamie Martin, Head of Community Regeneration, says: “Although #CommunityImpactWeek has given us a platform to publicise how community centric Magenta Living is, it’s important to note that we are proud to make a difference for our residents all year round.”
