Information regarding External Wall Insulation to Magenta Living properties

Magenta Living has installed External Wall Insulation (EWI) to 1,019 of its homes in order to improve thermal performance and reduce tenant bills.

EWI is not the same ‘cladding’ that was installed at Grenfell Tower, the scene of the recent tragic fire in London. That particular high rise block was fitted with Rain Screen “ACM” or Aluminium Composite Material panels. It is these ACM panels that all the recent publicity and concern has centred on.
Following the tragic fire in London, Magenta Living’s key initial focus has been on high rise safety issues and we can also confirm that none of Magenta Living’s eight high rise blocks have the ACM cladding.

There are a couple of different types of EWI systems installed and we plan to reassure each resident by writing to them to offer further information about their individual EWI system.
We continue to work with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service looking at fire safety issues and further important fire safety information can be found at www.merseyfire.gov.uk in the Prevent and Protect section. A summary of this information will also be included in the above correspondence.
