More about the National Databank
The National Databank was launched in July 2021 by the Good Things Foundation in collaboration with Virgin Media O2, and supported by Vodafone and Three. Functioning similarly to a food bank but provides free mobile data to individuals in need. Its mission is to combat data poverty and digital exclusion across the UK. By early 2022, the initiative expanded from 34 hubs to over 1,000 Digital Inclusion Hubs, distributing more than 125,000 data packages to date. This effort makes sure that everyone can benefit from internet connectivity, especially those from low-income households.
