Bloomin’ great response to Magenta Living’s garden competition
Tenants from across Wirral tested their green fingers and entered gardens into the annual event, which is sponsored by Continental Landscapes Ltd.
From high rise flats to communal gardens, 120 budding gardeners put their growing skills forward to enter the competition, which culminated in an awards ceremony held at Magenta Living’s headquarters in Partnership Building, Birkenhead on Tuesday 13 September.
The Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Pat Hackett and Magenta Living’s Executive and Strategic Director, Jayne Winders made the presentations and said:
“I’m delighted to be presenting at Magenta Living’s annual garden competition. This is a great way for our tenants to show off their gardening skills and bring communities together. Everyone who entered has made so much effort and I would like to congratulate all who entered.”
Overall winner of Magenta Living’s 2016 Garden Competition was Mrs Jackie Hudson of Bebington. Mrs Hudson said:
“I’m really surprised to have won overall winner, I really wasn’t expecting this, I’m so happy.”
Among the presentations was an award for innovation which went to seven-year-old Thomas Taplin who is encouraged in his garden growing and design by mum Dawn.
