Positive reports for Magenta Living
Magenta Living Housing Association has published its suite of annual reports for 2022/23.
The reports include:
-
Annual Report for our customers to show how we have performed and which highlights our achievements over the 12-month reporting period.
-
Social Value Statement showing the work we do in communities.
-
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report which outlines our ESG impacts. It helps us be more transparent about the risks and opportunities we face as an organisation.
-
Financial Report and Statements.
Over the last financial year, company turnover was £69.6m (2022: £73.9m) with £66m arising from core social housing lettings activity. There is an operating surplus of £2m. We have continued to invest in both our existing stock and undertake new developments for affordable housing to rent.
These reports paint a positive picture for Magenta Living – much of our social value work can be hard to quantify and yet this year we achieved an incredible £21,281,753 of social value in our communities.
And it shows that Magenta Living is much more than just a landlord – we put our customers and our communities at the heart of everything we do.
With the cost-of-living crisis squeezing households, Magenta Living has been proactive in reaching out and helping our most vulnerable customers with a series of cost-of-living roadshows which were hugely welcomed in the neighbourhoods we visited.
Partnership working to create social value within our communities and create opportunities for our customers is a key part of our approach. We have strong relationships with local charities and social enterprises like Happy Times Activities – providing support for those with disabilities and additional needs along with their carers and Tomorrow’s Women Wirral – supporting women experiencing domestic abuse.
Magenta Living’s CEO, Debi Marriott Lavery, said:
“This is my first year as CEO and I am delighted to present these positive reports – showing our resilience and ability to support our customers during what has been a very challenging and unpredictable time for everyone.
“We have worked towards making a positive impact on both the environment and the communities we operate in. We have implemented several initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint and promote social responsibility. We have been present in our communities offering advice, support and a helping hand including by partnering with some incredible local organisations and charities. As we move forward, we are excited to continue our journey with our customers and we remain committed to delivering innovative solutions, excellent customer service and a positive contribution to our local communities in whatever way we can.”
Chair of Magenta Communities Committee (MCC), Wendy Gooley, said:
“As Chair of MCC and a customer of Magenta Living, I am pleased to endorse these reports as a true reflection of how Magenta has performed during this 12-month period. The future is looking bright for Magenta and I’m looking forward to being part of it.”
