Magenta Living attends the 2024 Employee Happiness Conference
Magenta Living joined The Happiness Index for its Employee Happiness Conference, a London event that brought together a wealth of talented industry leaders for a day of workshops, talks and networking.
The Happiness Index is a resource that was developed to give organisations a deeper understanding of their workplace culture, employee satisfaction, and mental health needs .
Magenta Living has been working with The Happiness Index to build an understanding around how our colleagues are feeling so we can ensure we have positive workplace culture that empowers colleagues to deliver a great service for our customers and communities.
The annual Employee Happiness Conference is an opportunity to share best practice with other employers as well as understand the latest thinking from experts on employee well-being.
Magenta Living’s People Potential and Talent Lead, Laura Silcock, joined the line-up as part of a panel session, in which, she shared key learnings from the Magenta Living People Team on engaging employees and encouraging happiness in the workplace.
Why is the happiness of our colleagues so important?
Within Magenta Living’s Strategic Vision & Plan: The Road to 2030, ‘Transforming our Culture’ was set as one of the three guiding principles that shapes and informs how we work. The intention behind this principle is to drive forward a renewed culture that values integrity, embraces diversity, fosters innovation and continually places our customers at the heart of everything we do.
We understand that happy colleagues are the cornerstone of delivering exceptional experiences to our customers and therefore attracting and keeping talented and skilled colleagues who share and live our values is key. Ensuring we are a workplace that is open and transparent that supports, engages, trains and develops colleagues while looking after their wellbeing has never been more important.
Laura says “ Employee wellbeing is incredibly important to Magenta; our colleagues work with people in complicated circumstance s and who are suffering the consequences of the cost-of-living crisis. The best part of our job is having the opportunity to help others, but we understand that to do a great job our colleagues need supporting too. By listening to our colleagues, we learn what matters most to them and, in turn create an environment that they are happy and proud to work in.”
Not only is Magenta Living the largest affordable housing provider in Wirral, but as a placed-based organisation with a team of over 600; the colleagues we work with are part of the fabric of the community we serve. By continuing to work with The Happiness Index Magenta Living is committed to the continuous improvement of our culture and the promise to our customers of an enhanced experience, of a company made up of talented, diverse and skilled individuals the listens, adapts, and evolves to meet needs in the best way possible.
