Magenta Living continues to SHIFT sustainability
Wirral’s largest housing association has recently retained its SHIFT Gold rating due to its continued sustainability efforts and ranks second out of the 40 most recent SHIFT assessments.
This goes a long way to strengthening Magenta Living’s Climate Change Vision and future carbon zero goals.
Organisational accreditation partner, SUSS Housing, who administers SHIFT, confirmed that Magenta Living is only one of 13 landlords nationally to achieve this status.
SHIFT demonstrates that organisations are delivering against challenging environmental targets. It spans energy and resource use, transport and travel, resident engagement, climate risk, biodiversity and responsible sourcing, thereby providing a comprehensive overview of an organisation’s environmental footprint.
Feedback has shown that Magenta Living scored particularly well in the areas of resident engagement, environmental initiatives, work around their offices (including energy and water usage and waste management) as well as the work of their Property Care team to ensure responsibly sourced materials, recycling and emissions.
Ian Thomson, Magenta Living’s Executive Director of Assets and Development, said:
“I am absolutely delighted with this positive news.
“We achieved Gold status last year which was fantastic and to retain it is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our colleagues. Everyone at Magenta Living is totally committed to sustainability and this shows a great team effort. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do at Magenta and SHIFT helps us improve their quality of life through higher quality homes and reduced energy usage.”
