Magenta Living donates £10,000 and volunteers time at Wirral Foodbank
A team of Magenta Living colleagues from all areas of the business recently volunteered their time to help Wirral Foodbank at their warehouse in Birkenhead.
Magenta Living is proud to support this wonderful charity that does so much for the local community and recognised this by making a much needed donation of £10,000 and essential items donations from colleagues.
Wirral Foodbank is a local charity that offers food, advice, and essential supplies to support people within local communities during challenging times. At any one time, they’ll provide people who need it the most with three days’ worth of food and will continue to support them to get them back on their feet.
Ian Thomson, Magenta Living’s Executive Director of Assets and Development said: “I’m very proud to be able to offer our donation of £10,000 along with food donations and items from our colleagues. I can see what a massive difference this will make to local communities across Wirral. The work Wirral Foodbank does is massively important to those communities and the support they provide to those who need it most. It was a real pleasure to volunteer at Wirral Foodbank and seeing the tireless work their volunteers do every day was very humbling.”
Magenta Living has been working in partnership with Wirral Foodbank for several years, and they’re one of many key community partners we work alongside. During the pandemic, a team of Magenta Living apprentices installed a new kitchen at the warehouse for staff and volunteers to use, and we’re currently working together as part of our Cost-of-Living Roadshows.
Richard Roberts, General Manager at Wirral Foodbank said: “Thank you, Magenta Living, for your extremely generous donation of £10,000 and the essential supplies donated by your colleagues. I would also like to thank the incredible team of volunteers, who spent a day volunteering at our warehouse.
Your donations will help us to continue delivering our support services, such as essential food packages, debt, and benefit advice, which is offered to all who visit our eleven foodbank centres. Magenta Living is a long-term supporter of Wirral Foodbank, and we are grateful for your generosity of time, food, and financial donations.”
Jamie Martin, Head of Community and Regeneration at Magenta Living said: “Wirral has a great community and voluntary network which supports our customers in many ways, and Wirral Foodbank is a great example of one of those community partners.
By helping people in times of real crisis, they make a huge difference locally and to our customers. It’s great to see such an inspirational and life-changing organisation working in our neighbourhoods, and we’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with Wirral Foodbank and offering our support.”
