Magenta Living partner with CTP to give Scott a chance on civvy street
The Building Services arm of Magenta Living are always looking at new ways to harness new talent, so when the opportunity to employ Scott Morris came up, they leapt at the chance.
Scott Morris is a highly skilled electrician who has been medically discharged from the Army. He has spent the last eight years following in the footsteps of his uncle, granddad and cousins by serving in Afghanistan for the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is the official provider of Armed Forces resettlement. They support service leavers with the transition to civilian life by organising training or work with employers like Magenta Living.
Scott, aged 34, from Tranmere, Wirral was looking to utilise his electrician’s qualification gained in the Army with a local company, and Magenta Living was more than happy to oblige. Scott started working with Magenta Living’s team of electricians back in October, updating empty properties ready for new families to move into.
Andy Jagger, Scott’s Manager at Magenta Living says: “Scott has proved to be a huge asset to the team. His level of workmanship, ability to fit in, and friendly approach shows that he is more than ready to make a success of civilian life. Scott is the first of hopefully many ex-military staff we employ.”
Scott says: “Changing your career at any time of life can be daunting, but I feel that working for Magenta Living is ideal for me. Each day is a new challenge but I love working within the community I’ve grown up in.”
