More affordable homes approved!
Magenta Living is celebrating after receiving confirmation that their planning application for twelve 3-bedroom houses, for affordable rent on Whitfield Street, Tranmere has been approved.
The former Whitfield Court site was most recently leased to the NHS as a car park until it became vacant.
Justine Gore, Development Director at Magenta Living, said:
“We are delighted to receive planning permission for this development. The land, already in our ownership, presents a great opportunity to redevelop this brownfield site to provide family housing in Tranmere.
“Working with our partners DK-Architects, Markhams and Shape Consulting Engineers, we continue to work towards our ambition to deliver Magenta Living’s new homes programme across the Wirral.”
Comments from Wirral Council’s decision summary from included:
“The Local Planning Authority have worked with the applicant in a positive and proactive manner … The redevelopment of this land for 12 affordable housing units is considered acceptable, the design and layout of the houses within the plot and in relation to neighbouring dwellings is considered appropriate and reflective of the character of the area in terms of setting and density.”
Following the appointment of a Principal Contractor, work on site is targeted to begin Winter 2023.
